About This Role
The IT Network Security Engineer will have exceptional technical expertise and customer service skills and be capable of working in a small but growing and fast-paced environment. As a member of our Information Technology (IT) team, the IT Network Security Engineer is expected to independently install, deploy, and upgrade network equipment and computer systems, assist with design and implementation of network and system security upgrades. The IT Network Security Engineer will also be expected to participate in Infrastructure and Security planning, implementation, and support. This person will take initiative to actively assist in end-user Helpdesk support activities and share 24/7 on-call responsibilities.
What You Will Be Doing
- Deploy, test, and maintain security systems like VPNs, firewalls, and email security
- Monitor the company's networks to identify potential security breaches and investigate events as necessary
- Assist or oversee third-party penetration testing
- Analyze IT requirements and ensure systems hardware and software are well maintained and meet all security and performance requirements
- Support the design, installation, maintenance and monitoring of all Cloud and locally based systems, including networks, servers, active directory, and other related IT management systems
- Responsible for expert-level troubleshooting of issues relating to Cloud, networks, systems, virtualization, or application issues
- Assist with all aspects of the Helpdesk, including end-user support, ticket handling and provisioning of equipment
- Contribute to IT policies and processes using industry best practices
- Provide on-call support for networks, systems, and application-related outages
- Provide analysis of IT security related incidents and ensures appropriate handling and response
- Other duties as assigned
Where You Will Do This Job
- Hybrid - This position will allow the successful candidate to work on a Hybrid work location schedule. They must be based in the greater SF Bay Area and must be able to commute into the RefleXion office in Hayward 1-4 days a week, depending on the role.
What We Need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field or combined education and professional commensurate experience
- 5 or more years IT experience with progressive skills development
- Excellent troubleshooting skills; ability to rapidly identify and resolve issues under pressure
- Self-motivated, results-driven, well-organized, and able to handle multiple tasks with clear sense of ownership and priority
- Strong knowledge of common IT infrastructure, such as Microsoft Windows Active Directory/Azure AD, Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, network equipment, firewalls, SIEM, and server hardware platforms
- Strong experience with Internet services and general network troubleshooting (PING, DNS, etc.)

The pay range for this role is $100,000 - $140,000 a year. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor. The total compensation package for this position may also include bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable variable compensation.
