IT Help Desk Specialist (Tier 1)
Day Shift (Monday to Friday, 10 AM - 6 PM)
Location: Annapolis Junction, MD Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated IT Help Desk Specialist for our day shift, running from
Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The ideal candidate will handle internal and external IT
service requests for both Unix and NT servers. This role involves acknowledging service
requests submitted via web or email, maintaining a detailed log and tracking inquiries through
our service management database, and ensuring comprehensive documentation of all activities.
The specialist will be responsible for efficiently categorizing, initiating, directing, and escalating
service requests as necessary, especially those beyond the scope of the IT Service Center
(ITSC). Key Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must possess an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with polygraph. Required to have a DoD 8570 IAT Level 1 certification. A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree. At least 1 year of experience with a background in utilizing Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience with ticket management systems such as SupportIT and ServiceNow is advantageous. Knowledge of Unix is beneficial but not a prerequisite for this position.
