IT Director- Dallas, TX Area

American Consultants has a perm position for an IT Director in the Dallas TX area.

Job Summary:

• Reinforces values, promotes Compliance Plan and demonstrates proficiency in understanding of training materials and applicable laws and standards.

• Completes the required corporate integrity and compliance training and education programs and ensures department employees complete their required education (in a timely manner) according to facility policies.

• Assists the Compliance Officer and the Executive Compliance Committee in identifying "high risk" issues within his/her department.

• Complies with all HIPAA standards.

• Responsible and accountable for internal and/or external customer service scores.

• Direct, control and plan the operations of the Information Systems department.

• Serving as a contact for the Meditech Applications Consultant on a regular basis for new software, training, updates and any other major issues.

• Determining the equipment needs for the Information System department and other departments and ordering equipment.

• Test and oversee the testing of all software updates/new releases of all modules of computer software.

• Monitoring storage analysis for each module usage and growth habits and making decisions as to overall system growth habits and adding storage to meet the need.

• Tracking all reported problems, enhancement request and system change request.

• Assist in the orientation and skill development of new staff members, as required.

• Maintain user access menus in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

• Maintain audit files of patients PHI and check for HIPAA violations.

• Serving as security officer for hospital for HIPAA regulations.

• Ensuring regulatory reporting of patient PHI to state in a timely manor.

• Working with system analysts to assure that a consistent approach is followed throughout the Hospital Information System.

• Ensuring proper backup of systems for disaster recovery.

• Work with hospital management and department heads to enlist their help and support for acceptance, expansion and increased sophistication of computer systems.

• Does not excessively use the hospital's sick leave allowance.

Minimum Education

B.S. in Computer Science (Management Information Systems) or equivalent experience (installing and managing computer information systems: end user training and problem solving in hospital environment).

Minimum Work Experience

Three years of management experience.

Masters in healthcare or related field preferred.
