Duties Serves as Battle Captain for the JFHQ DODIN Operations Center (JDOC) in the daily management of a 24/7/365 operations center focused on the Command and Control (C2), synchronization and de-confliction of DODIN Operations. Participates in or leads the prioritization and direction of global and/or theater-specific DODIN Cyber Operations (DCO) response actions to cybersecurity events. Supports crisis action planning by providing situational information environment awareness with a primary focus on contingency operations. Monitors performance of global networks and systems. Tracks and documents cyber defense incidents from initial detection through final resolution. Develops priorities and objectives to ensure timely resolution of events/incidents/problems and provides timely, accurate, and relevant situational awareness to local leadership and impacted customers. Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be a U.S. Citizen. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service. This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination. Must be able to obtain and maintain Top Secret/ SCI security clearance. This is a drug testing position. This is a mission essential position. This position is covered under DoD Manual 8140 which will be subject to future Cyber Workforce requirements as defined by the Manual. Qualifications In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. Basic Requirements: Applicants must demonstrate on their resume that they have IT related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies. -Attention to Detail -Customer Service -Oral Communication -Problem Solving Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience in Information Systems Network Security to include analyzing network alerts from various sources, coordinating incident response functions, monitoring external data sources to maintain currency of cyber defense threat condition and impact determination, and performing cyber defense trend analysis and reporting. Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement. Education There is no substitution of education for specialized experience at the GG-13 grade level. Additional information This position is a DoD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1599f. If you are a current Federal Career/Career-Conditional employee, you will be placed on an Excepted appointment. This appointment does not confer eligibility to be non-competitively converted to the competitive service. Incumbent will be required to report to work or relocate to a new duty location, within the United States, in times of local/national emergency. Employee is subject to recall or call back during off-shift hours, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, if required by upper management. Shift work required. Shift hours will be: 1st shift , 2nd shift and 3rd shift . This position is subject to the limitations imposed by the DOD Priority Placement Program.
