Lead Field Cabling Technician

Our client is establishing a new office in Ft. Lauderdale and requires a skilled Lead Field Cabling Technician to oversee their network cabling needs. This contract role involves leading a team of two other technicians in laying/organizing network cables, wiring and installing TV's, testing network connections, and installing CCTV within office environments according to company specifications. The project duration is estimated to be 2-3 weeks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the team in laying and organizing network cables (Cat5/Cat6) throughout office spaces.
- Supervise the punching down of network cables and ensure proper connections.
- Coordinate the installation of cable trays, conduits, and raceways for efficient cable management.
- Conduct testing and troubleshooting of network cables to ensure connectivity.
- Collaborate closely with team members to plan and execute cabling projects effectively.
- Maintain thorough documentation of cabling layouts and configurations.
- Oversee the installation of biometric door systems, wiring/installation of CCTV cameras, and configuration of CCTV systems for seamless integration with biometric systems.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience with network cabling projects and cable management.
- Strong familiarity with laying and organizing network cables in office environments.
- Ability to supervise and guide team members in punching down and testing network cables.
- Experience in network and security installations, including CCTV and biometric systems.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to work on job sites.
- Certifications in network cabling or related fields are highly desirable.
