IOP Drug and Alcohol Counselor

This is a Part Time Contract Position for a Drug and Alcohol Counselor. The counselor will be responsible for the evening Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). Counselor will be facilitating group counseling sessions on Monday Wednesday and Thursday evenings with clients, creating and implementing treatment plans, providing relapse prevention education, and working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. Hours wil be 4:30-8:30 pm. The counselor will be expected to maintain confidentiality, demonstrate empathy, and provide a non-judgmental environment while working with clients. The counselor will also be expected to maintain accurate records and daily progress notes. Qualifications Chemical Dependency and Treatment Planning skills Experience in Relapse Prevention Understanding of Psychology and Addiction-related issues Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team Associates or Bachelors degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field Valid licensure for Drug and Alcohol Counseling in the state of Ohio LCDC II or higher Experience in a similar role and/or experience working with diverse populations is a plus Sensitivity to the needs of individuals with addiction and related mental health issues
