Huntsman is seeking an Inventory Manager based in The Woodlands, Texas or Geismar, Louisiana . This position will report to the S&OP Manager

Job Scope

The function of Inventory Manager will be to manage, track, and analyze inventory (physical and SAP) across the Rubicon and Huntsman networks. This includes the main manufacturing site at Geismar, LA as well as at various off-site warehouses and transloading facilities through the United States and Canada. The position will also liaise with the Supply Chain Manager for Mexico and Colombia to provide guidance on policies.

The Inventory Manager will be a liaison between our business partners, customers, and employees in communicating pertinent information accurately and expeditiously to operate the department/business efficiently and effectively. The Incumbent will communicate frequently with users requesting support or service, including various distribution and transloading sites. The incumbent will also develop employee relations, building trust and earning respect by recognizing employee talents/contributions and demonstrating an attitude of impartiality and consideration.

Across the Geismar Manufacturing Site:
•  MDI/Variants Units (scheduling bulk transfers to drumming and transloading facilities)
•  Polyol Unit (scheduling bulk transfers to drumming and transloading facilities)
•  Customer Service (schedule material to cover short lead orders, order fulfillment process)
•  S&OP (establish safety stocks based on combination of forecast, actual usage, and production/replenishment factors)
•  Logistics (schedule transfer orders to drumming and transloading facilities)
•  MIS (Plant creation, SAP Material Master Issues)
•  Accounting (billing questions and inventory reporting)
•  Lab (COA creation, quality issues, rebranding materials) Outside of the Geismar Manufacturing Site:
•  Bulk Carriers
•  Drumming Facilities
•  Storage Warehouses
•  Transloading Facilities
•  Commercial (communicate cost and feasibility of special packaging, establish safety stocks, determine most cost-effective method of handling returned, aged, and off-spec material) As the Inventory Manager you will:
•  Work within the SAP database to provide the following business support services:
•  Provide governance for creation, extension and updating of SAP material codes at various plants. This includes managing all related master data elements relating to materials, inventory, and production data at third party sites.
•  Aide in the physical and SAP setup of new warehouses and transloading facilities
•  Inventory activities include, but are not limited to:
•  Maintain proper inventory levels at distribution points throughout the Huntsman network (warehouses and transloading facilities).
•  Analyze/monitor inventories for both finished goods and raw materials at the main manufacturing site in Geismar, LA.
•  Work closely with manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, and procurement personnel to ensure working capital guidelines and targets are being met.
•  Track and monitor customer contractual inventory requirements.
•  End of Month Closing Activities.
•  Reconcile SAP and physical inventories at various warehouses and transloading facilities throughout the Huntsman distribution network.
•  Provide monthly physical inventory reports for all designated facilities to the Accounting Department, Supply Chain Director, PMT, etc.
•  Analyze/report block stock monthly changes - in/out key process indicators (KPIs).
•  Set action plan with the Supply Chain organization to achieve targets in the subsequent months if there is deviation.
•  Participate in on-site physical inventory counts for specified facilities on an annual basis. Develop cycle count schedule in collaboration with Finance.
•  Manage the disposition of aged, returned, and off spec inventory
•  Coordinate rework for MDI and Polyols
•  Coordinate resale shipments
•  Coordinate disposal activities if rework and resale are not options.
•  Manage the write-down of inventory values in collaboration with Finance as material ages.
•  Hold monthly aged inventory review meetings with Commercials to move material out of the network via sales opportunities.
•  Coordinate the write down of inventory nearing expiry in accordance with the financial policies.
•  Consignment inventory adjustments
•  Manage daily inventory adjustments/movements
•  Explore / implement improvement opportunities and assist with special project needs
•  Inventory projects
•  Inventory Business Process Owner (BPO)
•  Participate in internal/external audits of inventory procedures
•  Semi-annual checklist for SOX assessor
•  Maintain segregation of duties matrix
•  Set and govern policies for establishing and adjusting safety stock levels and replenishment points across all North America Polyurethanes (PU) business. Heavily engage with the Commercial and Supply Chain organizations.
•  Analyze/report block stock monthly changes - in/out key process indicators (KPIs)
•  Provide consultative services to the material coordinator responsible for Lanxess inventories as needed. Required Qualifications:

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.

Technical:

The Inventory Manager must be proficient in SAP 4.6, Microsoft Office (Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint), MPAC, Lotus Notes and workflow databases. The incumbent will work with the SAP support team during system enhancements, lending them assistance in the testing phase of implementation. A good capacity for learning is essential.

Business:

This function also requires a person with a significant understanding of transportation and distribution processes. It also requires knowledge of the Lanxess/Huntsman organization and businesses, products, customers, and manufacturing facilities globally. The Inventory Manager should recognize, promote, and lead improvement opportunities in business processes and system functionality.

Regulatory:

The incumbent must understand Material Safety Data Sheets and Technical Data Sheets, including retrieval process to be able to aid as requested. The incumbent must be knowledgeable of Anti-Trust policies, business procedures, and demonstrate ethical business practices. The incumbent supports all safety programs.

Soft Skills and Strengths:

The incumbent must possess excellent skills including but not limited to: verbal and written communication skills, organization and planning skills, multi-tasking skills, project management, negotiation and time management skills. He/She must be flexible, adaptable to change, responsive, and have a positive attitude. He/She must be able to make complex decisions or situations clear, simple and/or understandable. The incumbent must be able to diffuse stressful situations and demonstrate effective conflict resolution skills.

Problem Solving:

This position requires analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze large volumes of information to perform complex analyses, project business requirements/customer needs, and aid in the guidance of other associates. He/She must have supply chain operational knowledge of all products, transportation, customers, and strategic business units. The incumbent must be able to resolve problem situations that include but are not limited to:
•  Research and resolve customer complaints finding problems, identifying root causes, execution of corrective action, and communicating results.
•  Logistical issues concerning short lead time orders. Work closely with production planners to modify schedule in a way that will meet our customer's needs without having negative impact on production output.
•  Help resolve carrier issues that cause safety hazards, product quality concerns, prevent products from leaving the plant on time, or prevent products from arriving at the drumming facilities on time.
•  Help resolve drumming facility issues that cause safety hazards, product quality concerns, or drumming delays.
