Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Instruction PRIOR EXPERIENCE Previous Teaching, ESL Certification, and/or Special Education Certification preferred EVALUATION Evaluated in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement LENGTH OF CONTRACT School Year SALARY Per the Salary Schedule (APPENDIX IV) GENERAL JOB GOALS: Identifies at-risk students, develops programs, provides intervention, aligns student support services, and follow-up to monitor and report student progress. MAJOR DUTIES & PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: The criteria indicated below are intended to describe various types of work that may be performed. The exclusion of specific responsibilities does not prohibit them if the work is similar, related, or a logical position task. Organization/Programming Monitor and evaluate the needs of all at-risk students and work collaboratively with teachers, families, Student Services, and Specialists in the development of student support programs for academic intervention and/or tutoring sessions. Communicate to teachers, students, and families about tutoring support. Organize and tutor students during study hall, lunch, and/or before school (during work hours). Support a system of tutoring to occur during Monday late start times. Supervise peer tutoring of LCHS students during Monday late start times. Communicate progress to teachers, students, and families. Track and document the frequency of tutoring and interventions for each student. Track and analyze the data demonstrating the academic progress of students and the impact of the provided interventions. Report progress and updates to the Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction on a regular basis. Attend MTSS and other student progress meetings as requested. Communicate with teachers to solicit targeted areas of need for specific students. Create and disseminate the necessary documentation for teachers to indicate a student requires interventions. Review data sources such as weekly eligibility, Panorama, and P/SAT to identify those students who require interventions. Create a personalized learning plan for each student. Collaborate with other staff assigned tutoring responsibilities to coordinate intervention work related to individual students.
