We are looking for a motivated International Sales Manager to join our team.


Job Description for International Sales Manager:

The International Sales Manager is a pivotal role responsible for driving global sales growth by developing and executing strategic initiatives to expand market share and increase revenue. This position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in international sales, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of success in building and managing international partnerships. The ideal candidate will possess a deep knowledge of global markets, strong negotiation abilities, and a customer-centric approach to sales. They will collaborate closely with our international partners and internal teams to identify opportunities, establish partnerships, and deliver exceptional customer experiences.


This individual will report to OMI's Director of Industrial Sales and will collaborate with Engineering, Research & Development, Revenue Operations, and Sales team members.


Responsibilities of International Sales Manager include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to penetrate international markets and achieve revenue targets.
  • Manage and drive sales with our partners in our core markets of Wastewater and Asphalt
  • Build, manage and hold our business partners accountable to business plans designed to drive doubling revenues in the next 3 years.
  • Apply a train-the-trainer approach to working with the partners in order to grow knowledge of our sales approach, process, and products.
  • Manage the communication between our international partners and our support groups in R&D and Engineering to help drive opportunities.
  • Travel to meet with our partners and combined customers (up to 40-50% overnight travel).
  • Meet with customers virtually.
  • Assist with on-site installation and set-up of new Ecosorb technology in various countries.
  • Manage and update customer information and leads in Salesforce CRM system.
  • Collaborate often with the Engineering Manager, Chief Scientific Officer, and Director of Industrial Sales to create efficient systems for each customer that bring in sales for the company.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Mechanical aptitude: Knowledge of tools and parts, as well as being able to teach and act on site.
  • Technical aptitude: Knowledge or ability to learn Science and Engineering terminology, processes, and performance. Must be able to discuss chemistry with the Chief Scientific Officer as well as engineering and mechanical make-ups while on site visits with customers.

Work Environment:

  • OMI Industries manufactures odor eliminating solutions. Chemical exposure to raw materials including plant oils, fragrances, and other materials will occur.
  • Travel/Attendance:
  • 40-50% overnight travel required. May fluctuate based on business needs.
  • International sales territory - covering several continents.
  • When not traveling, the International Sales Manager will report out of their home office and/or the Corporate Headquarters in Palatine, IL.

Physical Demands:

  • The employee will be expected to visit customers on-site.
  • The employee will be regularly required to sit; stand; walk; bend; reach using feet, legs, back, arms and hands; talk and hear.
  • The employee can expect to need to climb, go onto roofs, and enter small spaces while on-site.
  • The employee must be able to adhere to, evaluate, and act on safety protocols.
  • They must have a tolerance for the state of sites (I.e., smell, odor, dirt).
  • Must possess the ability to detect auditory and/or visual alarms and be available to work extended/flexible hours and weekends, as needed.
Requirements:

Experience/Requirements of International Sales Manager:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Chemistry; or equivalent experience. Advanced degree considered a plus.
  • 5+ years sales experience. Experience in Asphalt, Wastewater considered a plus.
  • 5+ years experience selling consumables and/or capital equipment into international process industries.
  • Bilingual language skills, Spanish required.
  • Comfortable and willing to travel to travel internationally (South America, Asia, Europe, etc.)
  • Proven record of accomplishment of successful international sales transactions.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office suite; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams.
  • Proficient use of Salesforce CRM or equivalent tracking system.
  • Proficient understanding of developing sales goals and projections.
  • Understanding of chemistry, physics, math, and construction applied to product design and systems.
  • Ability to write presentations, letters, and formulate proposals.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Collaborative approach with ability to lead across and communicate with all types of functions. (Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Human Resources, Senior Leadership, etc.).
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% required. May fluctuate depending on business needs.
