Position Title International Coordinator Position Classification Staff Employment Type Full-Time Benefits Full Time Benefitted Department External Affairs Summary The International Coordinator provides essential organization among the different functions performed by WNMU's Office of International Relations and Global Initiatives. Duties Assists international students in educational and career goals to complete their academic objectives at WNMU. Serves as liaison to develop and conduct transition activities for students, and for international students experiencing academic and cultural adjustments. Administers various assessment tools used in academic and career needs of students. Organizes, plans, and implements new student orientations, check-ins and checkouts, and other informational programs international students need in the adjustment to life on campus and in the community. Coordinates international activities and implementation agreement among the Language Institute, grant personnel, community colleges in New Mexico and Arizona, and all other external institutions. Assists in processing international and other student transfers to WNMU, and in expansion of our dual degree programs and co-certifications. Performs other duties as assigned. Education/Background Master's degree in education, counseling, or a related field with 2 years of experience in international education or higher education administration. Job Knowledge Must be knowledgeable of University policies and procedures. Must be able to handle multiple deadlines and maintain accuracy. Must be sensitive to cultural differences within the University and community. Fluent in Microsoft Office Applications. Working Conditions/ Physical Demands (With or Without Accommodations) Normal office environment, may travel some within the community when needed. May be required to lift normal office equipment and materials. Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information. Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication. Hearing ability for verbal communication/ conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions. Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing, reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling, and prolonged sitting.
