UnityPoint Clinic is a physician-led, nonprofit health care organization offering comprehensive services in primary care, walk-in care and specialty care. The clinical teams at the area's clinics are improving outcomes, lowering the number of hospital readmissions and reducing avoidable costs associated with treating chronic conditions. - Established team of 3 physicians, 1 Advanced Practitioner and 1 Advanced Practitioner in Nursing Home
- Opportunity to practice outpatient medicine in an established and well-known clinic
- Cohesive group of colleagues and supportive staff allowing for autonomy while building the practice according to your preferences
- Experienced staff, both clinical and non-clinical who know the patients and the community
- Full-time position including dedicated administrative time, with flexible scheduling to ensure sufficient patient access
- Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC EMR to improve care coordination
- Average of 15-18 patients per day; no nights or weekends, 4.5 day work week
- 1:6 Nursing Home Call with a group of 8-9 providers
- Dedicated roomer, shared phone nurse, attached to the hospital with lab and x-ray
- Office services & procedures: POCT HgbAC1, INR Clinic, AWV, physicals, vaccines, procedures specific to your comfort level
- Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
- Evaluates, interprets, and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
- Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical, and problem-solving skills
- MD or DO
- Board Certified
- Internal Medicine and Geriatric experience preferred, Family Medicine w/ adult medicine experience considered
- Hold an unrestricted medical license in the state of Iowa
- Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the Advanced Practitioners field of practice
