Systemic Bio is a 3D Systems subsidiary based in Houston, TX, focused on the development of human vascularized organ and disease models to be used for drug discovery and development. Founded in August 2022 with a $15M seed investment from its parent company, Systemic Bio is using its proprietary bioprinting and organ-on-a-chip technology to accelerate drug development timelines, increase clinical trial success rates, and eventually put an end to animal testing. Join us for a transformative 14-week internship during Summer 2024 with start dates in May and June. We are looking for talented engineers who are strong problem solvers to join our team this summer across different disciplines. As a summer intern, you will: Work with the Systemic Bio team to develop and test new products pertaining to our organ-on-a-chip platform Test and improve product workflows Run cell-based experiments that validate the function of organs and diseases developed with our technology Develop algorithms to automate testing workflows Our values We are innovators at the forefront of bioprinting and organ-on-a-chip technology. Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in one of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computational Biology Specific skills will vary according to role: o Software: strong experience with Python, experience with applied ML for computer vision using Tensorflow, PyTorch, OpenCV, experience with automation preferred. o Product Engineering: strong experience with CAD, 3D printing and product prototyping, experience with CFD highly preferred. o Bioengineering & Biology: experience with mammalian cell culture required, experience with organoids, organs-on-chips and microphysiological systems preferred.
