Duties Serves as Associate Technical Director guides multi-disciplinary teams through planning, development and implementation of crucial projects and efforts. Disaggregate complex, long-term efforts into sequential tasks, optimize the allocation of resources, and guide progress towards successful project conclusions. Assesses technology tradeoffs, understands technical and programmatic risks, and recommends process improvements to leadership and team members. Identifies, coordinates, and monitors project-level, ERDC-level, and Army-level risks, issues, and opportunities. Execute programmatic and resource development staff functions. Addresses technical issues from concept/occurrence to resolution. Performs other staff-related duties, provides mentorship, and coaching to research and project management staff. Assembles the appropriate expertise from groups and offices, identifies solution space, staffs approval packages, and tracks execution from research through transition across the full capability development life cycle. Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident. This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. Appointment to this position is subject to a two year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
