POSITION OVERVIEW:
This position manages all POS systems to POS applications, Integrated Menu Boards, Reporting, and Integrated Value Added Ticketing. Responsible for all integrated POS Hardware and Software. Manages 3-5 part time IT staff that support POS systems and acts as an IT Manager on Duty for all assigned events, while providing remote support for the POS system for all events. (Dallas Stars, Dallas Mavericks, concerts, and conferences)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Analyzes POS systems and applications user requirements, procedures and problems to automate or improve;
  • Manages, trains, and schedules all part time IT event staff, while providing cross training to full time staff;
  • Maintains, repairs and upgrades maintenance of all POS terminals and handheld units so they remain in good working order. Handles all RMS processes for POS equipment;
  • Performs backup duties with the administration of the Generic Authorization program for gift cards, discount cards, loaded tickets, and employee meal cards;
  • Maintains, repairs, and upgrades the integrated menu board system by verifying all menu item changes, price changes, menu scheduling, and video content in conjunction with the concessionaire, building and teams;
  • Supports all Food and Beverage requests for special remote POS setups for events;
  • Maintains a basic understanding of IP Addressing and VLANs and account setups;
  • Maintains infrastructure and data security of POS Systems;
  • Ensures stocking and maintains POS parts inventory;
  • Creates, updates and maintains current POS, front and back of house, systems documentation;
  • Helps support other IT departments with projects, tasks, and help desk tickets;
  • Acts as IT Manager on Duty on a rotation basis for all assigned events;
  • Coordinate, test and deploy POS software and updates to meet business needs and security requirements;
  • Produce and evaluate reports on event incidents to drive POS system improvements;
  • Other projects as assigned by the Director of IT and or the CTO.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have Associate s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from accredited university or technical IT school; information technology field
  • Minimum of two to three years POS experience in an industry related field; restaurant, retail, casino, hotel, or sports venue
  • MS OS, iOS, Android, and POS certifications preferred
  • Computer graphic skills and Database management skills preferred
  • One to two years of supervisory experience is required
  • Must be a team player and possess excellent customer service skills
