Duties The United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) at Patrick Space Force Base is searching for an Integrated Defense, Plans Specialist (NH-0080-02). Description: Come be a part of something big, supporting the Gateway To Space mission with the 45th Security Forces Squadron. 45 SFS is currently seeking a talented individual to join our Security Forces team as the Chief of Plans, within our Plans and Programs (S5) section at Patrick Space Force Base, Florida. As the Chief of Plans, you will be expected to be the Integrated Defense subject matter expert with knowledge of installation security, resource protection, physical security, antiterrorism, and electronic security programs, with program management experience in one of these or a related area. Must have above average communication skills, proven performance as a team member/leader and an ability to build and maintain professional relationships with internal and external members/organizations. Should also be considered an Integrated Defense subject matter expert with knowledge of installation security, resource protection, physical security, antiterrorism, and electronic security programs, with program management experience in one of these or a related area. Have or be able to obtain/maintain a Top-Secret clearance and understand Spaceport of the Future, Defend the Mission, and other ongoing SLD 45 initiatives. Key Skills and Abilities: 1. Knowledge of a range of security forces policies, procedures, and practices. 2. Knowledge of overall security forces missions, functions, and structure. 3. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. 4. Knowledge of a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices to review independently, analyze, and resolve difficult and complex security problems, such as overlapping and conflicting requirements within a single facility, agreements with other organizations or agencies or planning and recommending the installation of multilayered security systems which may involve personnel access controls, physical protection devices, monitoring equipment, security forces, remote alarm equipment, and other measures. 5. Knowledge of a great variety of state-of-the-art security equipment and devices in planning and implementing protective methods and security procedures. 6. Knowledge of security systems, procedures, theories, and devices sufficient to consider and apply several alternatives according to the security requirements for highly specific situations, availability of materials, relationships with other protective programs, and cost/benefit considerations. 7. Knowledge of risk factors applicable to all types of resource protection vulnerabilities to perform effective risk assessments and physical security and resource protection surveys. 8. Knowledge of electronic security system requirements, testing criteria, and documentation. Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be a U.S. citizen. This position is on-site and eligible for telework, 2-4 days per pay period. Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis. Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise; employee must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance. Department of Defense Physical Security Certification (PSC) is required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DOD 3305.13-M and AFI 36-2645.
