Job DetailsKey Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in the preparation and trial of insurance defense cases, focusing on personal injury, premise liability, and subrogation matters.
- Conduct detailed legal research and analysis to support case strategies and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Manage all aspects of discovery, including drafting discovery requests and responses, organizing document productions, and preparing for depositions.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations relevant to insurance defense litigation.
- Coordinate with expert witnesses and manage the compilation of expert reports and testimonies.
- Oversee and manage case files, track important deadlines, and ensure that all case handling is compliant with court requirements.
- Assist in settlement negotiations and prepare settlement agreements and releases.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of paralegal experience specifically in insurance defense.
- A paralegal certificate from an accredited program.
- Strong knowledge of legal principles and practices related to insurance defense, civil litigation, and compliance.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously in a high-pressure environment.
- Proficient in legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications and experience with legal case management software.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with trial preparation and trial support.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detailed-oriented with strong analytical skills.
