Job Details

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist attorneys in the preparation and trial of insurance defense cases, focusing on personal injury, premise liability, and subrogation matters.
  • Conduct detailed legal research and analysis to support case strategies and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Manage all aspects of discovery, including drafting discovery requests and responses, organizing document productions, and preparing for depositions.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations relevant to insurance defense litigation.
  • Coordinate with expert witnesses and manage the compilation of expert reports and testimonies.
  • Oversee and manage case files, track important deadlines, and ensure that all case handling is compliant with court requirements.
  • Assist in settlement negotiations and prepare settlement agreements and releases.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of paralegal experience specifically in insurance defense.
  • A paralegal certificate from an accredited program.
  • Strong knowledge of legal principles and practices related to insurance defense, civil litigation, and compliance.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously in a high-pressure environment.
  • Proficient in legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications and experience with legal case management software.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with trial preparation and trial support.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detailed-oriented with strong analytical skills.
