Job Description Overview: Quantum Research International, Inc. Mission: Quantum's Experiment Support Team (QUEST) provides the Department of Defense with consistent, automated, and scalable data collection and management services for our Nation's Autonomy and Artificial Intelligence (AAI) research and development projects. QUEST provides rich curated data at the speed of mission as its contribution to inventing new ways of teaming Humans and Machines for improved outcomes. QUEST needs your assistance as an Instrumentation Technician to achieve these goals. Responsibilities: Work with all members of QUEST to implement robust data collection systems to support both test and experimentation events and exercises. Install, maintain, modify, and repair analog and digital instrumentation and control equipment used for testing and experimentation. Test, maintain, and calibrate electronic sensors / devices used in the capture and recording of critical data and system characteristics of unique articles under test or as part of experimentations. Install, test, and maintain UPS units for a variety of AC-powered equipment. Program and repair printed circuit boards, integrated circuitry, and microprocessors of unique sensors / instrumentation devices to support data collection. Participate in the drafting or interpretation of schematics, charts, blueprints, and specifications for the design and development of new or upgrades instrumentation or sensors. Recommend changes in designs and system modification to enhance data collection capabilities. Troubleshoot and repair equipment in the field and perform corrective and preventive maintenance. Maintain accurate and detailed records and charts supporting QUEST's inventory of data sensors and instrumentation. Work with a variety of customers and contractors to perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and calibration on an as-needed basis. Experience with mechanical and electrical principles as the relate to communication equipment. Work requires the ability to use soldering techniques for building and repairing various types of electrical components including but not limited to cables and assemblies. Experience with test equipment and systems' interfaces, including installation, troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance of electronic test instrumentation. Experience reading and interpreting schematic diagrams, operating a variety of electronic test equipment, duties such as testing, troubleshooting, modifying, calibrating, installing, maintaining, repairing, constructing, developing, on electronic equipment, or similar functions. The ability to set up and install complex instrumentation arrangements using engineering direction, drawings, and instructions. Ability to follow strict safety protocols, elevate concerns, follow highly detailed instructions, document discrepancies and resolve conflicts in instructions, tasks, or designs. Requirements/Qualifications: High School Diploma with a minimum of four years related military communication experience or related wireless communication experience. Must be a US Citizen. Security Clearance: Must have Secret with the ability to qualify and obtain a Top Secret/SCI. Physical Requirements: Must be able to travel internationally and work in austere environments. Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs. equipment containers un-assisted. Must be able to move through water, sand, and vegetation un-assisted.
