Duties Develop goals and standards to include those that support the DoDEA Community Strategic Plan. Develop reports, filters or queries, etc., and retrieve and present data. Assess the system wide effectiveness in the defined program area(s) by monitoring the implementation of curriculum/performance standards. Utilize student information application software systems that support the collection, maintenance and reporting of K-12 school and district educational management data. Train administrators, teachers, specialists and other educators in the use of the student information systems and provides information to the District Superintendents regarding program needs, status, and recommendations for improvements. Prioritize all District student information services projects in collaboration with Headquarters Information Technology Student Information Systems personnel to include both short and long-term timelines. Requirements Conditions of Employment Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Requirement. Proof of U.S. Citizenship required. Direct deposit of pay is required. One year trial period may be required. Appointment subject to a suitability/fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation. This position requires a Tier 3 (T3) investigation with Childcare Checks since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age. You may be required to sign a transportation agreement. You will be required to sign a mobility agreement, be available for worldwide placement, and be willing to rotate to any DoDDS or DDESS location. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Minimum Education Requirement: A Master's degree in the field of Education. The course work must have been completed at or accepted by a regionally accredited U.S. college or university. NOTE: You are required to submit ALL TRANSCRIPTS with at a minimum, your bachelor and master degrees. Your EDS, Doctorate etc. may need to be submitted as well if they must be used to meet the education requirement. If you do not provide this, your application WILL be rejected. Specialized Experience Requirement (5 years): Specialized experience is experience gained in teaching, educational research, development of educational materials and aids, educational testing, educational administration, or comparable activities in an elementary and/or secondary school, which has clearly demonstrated success in the application of principles, methods, and techniques of education and familiarity with current developments in PreK-12th grade education and training. This position requires a minimum of 2 years of specialized experience working with Student Information Systems (SIS). Examples of acceptable specialized SIS experience include: Experience in collecting, managing, extracting and analyzing data for the support and evaluation of school education programs; experience developing reports, filters, queries, etc. and retrieving and presenting data from data management systems; experience working cooperatively with others by serving as the subject matter expert for all SIS program modules and other management information systems; experience training and supporting educational managers, teachers, etc. in the use of data management systems, including registration, scheduling, attendance, and grading systems. The undergraduate/graduate course work must have included study in at least three of the following five areas: Learning theory, psychology of learning, educational psychology: Study of learning theories as they relate to the systematic design, development, and validation of instructional material. Instructional design practices: Study of the principles and techniques used in designing training programs, developing design strategy and models, and applying design methods to the improvement of instructional effectiveness. Educational evaluation: Study of the techniques for evaluating the effectiveness of instructional/educational programs, including developing written and performance tests and survey instruments, and determining reliability and validity of evaluation instruments. Instructional product development: Study of the techniques appropriate for developing training materials, including identifying learner characteristics, specifying objectives, applying training strategy, validating training materials, and evaluating training. Computers in education and training: Study of the application of computers in education and training. Professional Licensure/Certification Requirement: Applicants must be currently certified or certifiable under the current DoDEA standards in any PreK-12th grade endorsement area. Credits or degrees earned from a foreign college or university must be evaluated prior to acceptance. Three evaluation procedures are acceptable: 1. The work may be evaluated and interpreted by the International Education Research Foundation, Inc., Credential Evaluation Service, Post Office Box 3665, Culver City, CA or or . 2. The work may be evaluated by the graduate division of a regionally accredited university and declared the equivalent of similar undergraduate or graduate work in a U.S. institution. Graduates of non-accredited institutions may have their undergraduate work validated by admittance to graduate school and completion of a minimum of 5 SH of credit in a regionally accredited graduate college.
