Duties THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE INDEFINITE POSITION Selectee may be non-competitively converted to permanent status if/when funding becomes available or position becomes unencumbered. The primary purpose of the INSPECTIONS SPECIALIST (COORDINATOR), GS-1801-10, is to serve as The Inspection System of the Air Force analyst for the IG, managing the Self-Assessment program, providing feedback to FAMs on checklist quality,and compiling information from Management Internal Control Toolset (MICT), Inspector GeneralEvaluation Management System (IGEMS), Inspector General Evaluation Management System -Classified (IGEMS-C), and all current automated systems, to ensure wing/squadron/flightcommanders, the wing IG, and inspectors have all required information for directing theCommander's Inspection Program (CCIP). May make additional selections within 90 days of eligible(s) issuance. Requirements Conditions of Employment CALIFORNIA NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in the California National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Compatible Military Assignment and Grade are required. Military technicians must be assigned to a military position in the same unit which they are employed or, in a unit that is supported by the employing activity. Military technicians must hold the military grade specified for the position. Priority Areas(s) of Consideration: Priority consideration is first given to the areas below. AREA I= Current California National Guard employees who are serving on a Permanent/Indefinite/Temporary appointment. AREA II= Current California National Guard members. AREA III= Current military members of the Air Force/Army National Guard, Air Force/Army Reserve or Air Force/Army Active Duty. (Applicants who are currently in other Air/Army branches and NOT currently a member of the California National Guard (CNG) must become a member of a compatible unit of assignment within the Air Force CNG commensurate with the military grade listed in this announcement prior to federal assignment). Military Grades: E-5 through E-7 Recruitment/Relocation Recruitment/Relocation Incentive MAY BE authorized, subject to funding and approval. PCS Relocation Costs IS NOT authorized based on determination that Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move is not in the Government best interest. Must maintain appropriate level of security clearance. Must wear appropriate military uniform including required grooming standards. Must maintain a compatible military unit, grade and job assignment as required by current directives. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. IAW AF guidance, incumbent must complete the wing Inspector General Training Course (IGTC) within 180 days of appointment; must complete the USAF Basic Inspectors Course (BIC) for the Commanders Inspection Program within 180 days of assignment; and IG appointees for nuclear-capable units will complete the USAF Nuclear Inspector Course within 180 days of assignment. Qualifications General Experience: Possess experience in working within the definitions of laws, regulations, and policies; Experience in working the military inspection programs and basic understanding of military missions, service structures, capabilities, and organizational functions; Experience in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to analyze the self-assessment program plans; Experience in developing training materials and instructing others in the basic inspector general program elements, activities and procedures INSPECTIONS SPECIALIST (COORDINATOR), GS-1801-10: Must have 30 months experience in technical inspection methods, principles and practices in order to recognize and resolve discrepancies; experienced in working with pertinent laws, regulations, policies, and precedents which affect the use of the Inspector General Programs; Experiences included working related Inspector General programs that supported missions, identified capabilities, organizational structures, operational applications and operational techniques; Experienced in developing inspector general program goals and objectives; Experiences involved providing general administrative direction and establishing broad objectives for inspection planning; Skilled in executing inspections, new programs, and, skilled in developing, interpreting, and implementing inspector general program policies; Experiences may have included addressing difficult and sensitive issues based on variations in the nature of the processes evaluated, the diverse missions of the units assigned, and resource limitations; Experienced in researching, cross-checking information, analyzing, and interpreting data to obtain accurate and relevant information; Experienced and skilled in collecting information, documenting data to substantiate and validate findings, facts, or violations of government policies, procedures, and instructions .
