Job Title: Infra Engineer

Location: Columbus, OH

Summary:

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the foundational systems and technologies that support our organization's IT infrastructure. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including network design, server administration, virtualization, storage management, and security enforcement.


Requirements:

Expert level 10+ Years of experience with Cisco routers, switches, and WiFi condolers.
Expert level experience with firewall and load balance technologies
Familiarity with zScaler or equivalent Secure Web Gateway (SWG)
Deep understanding of BGP, OSPF, DMVPN, EIGRP and Spanning Tree
Experience with DMZ concepts, construction and implementation
Experience troubleshooting Wide Area Network circuits such as 10GigE, 1GigE, SwE, OC-3, DS-3 and T1.
Familiar with Agile Methodology.


Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Design and Deployment: Design, deploy, and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage systems, and virtualization platforms. Ensure that infrastructure components are scalable, resilient, and aligned with business requirements.

System Administration: Perform day-to-day management tasks such as server provisioning, configuration management, software installation, and user account management. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and optimize resource utilization.

Network Management: Configure and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers. Implement network security measures to protect against unauthorized access, malware, and other cyber threats.

Virtualization and Cloud Computing: Manage virtualized environments using platforms such as VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, or OpenStack. Leverage cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) to extend infrastructure capabilities and facilitate hybrid cloud deployments.

Storage Administration: Administer storage systems such as SAN (Storage Area Network) and NAS (Network-Attached Storage). Manage storage capacity, performance, and data protection mechanisms such as replication, backup, and disaster recovery.

Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices to safeguard infrastructure assets and sensitive data. Enforce compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS) through proper configuration and auditing.

Automation and Scripting: Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline infrastructure management tasks, improve efficiency, and reduce manual intervention. Embrace DevOps principles to promote collaboration between development and operations teams.
