Duties You will report to the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) and maintain a cybersecurity posture appropriate for a command, site, system, or enclave per applicable guidelines. You will identify and assess risks, threats, and vulnerabilities per applicable guidelines to ensure the command, site, system, or enclave is adequately protected. You will maintain up-to- date cybersecurity guidelines that can be accessed by authorized individuals and prepare and distribute any additional cybersecurity guidelines as necessary. You will conduct command security tests, reviews, inspections, and self-assessments to determine cybersecurity program effectiveness. Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be a US Citizen. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area INFORMATION SYSTEMS SECURITY MANAGER, level INTERMEDIATE within 12 months of appointment. Qualifications GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: establishing and managing a cybersecurity program within a command, site, system, or enclave per cybersecurity guidance and policies. Your experience must also reflect skill in the following areas: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include Identifying and assessing risks, threats, and vulnerabilities per applicable guidelines to ensure that command, site, system, or enclave is adequately protected. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Serve as a temporary assistant inspector / subject-matter expert to execute assigned inspector-related functions (e.g., Cyber Security Management) external to the command. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Conduct command security tests, reviews, inspections, and self-assessments to determine cybersecurity program effectiveness. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Establish processes for authorized users to report cybersecurity-related incidents or potential threats and take appropriate action when discovered per established guidelines. GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-09) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing support in monitoring, reporting, and enforcing the information assurance program for a command, site, system, or enclave. Your experience must also reflect skill in the following areas: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include Identifying and assessing risks, threats, and vulnerabilities per applicable guidelines to ensure that command, site, system, or enclave is adequately protected. 2.
