An established critical access hospital in northern Maine is currently searching for an experienced Registered Nurse Infection Prevention to join their award-winning healthcare team.

This organization provides access to world-class acute care services to a population of roughly 14,000 people. The inpatient services provided include cardiology, emergency medicine, orthopedics, and wound care. This system also provides various outpatient services including laboratory procedures, physical therapy, occupational therapy, radiology, chemotherapy, same-day surgery, cardiac and pulmonary rehab, nutritional counseling, home health, and respiratory care.

Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Registered Nurse Infection Prevention will act as a liaison between all hospital departments and the infection control committee. The Registered Nurse Infection Prevention gathers and collects data and analyzes hospital information, reports clusters of infection, maintains contact with local and state public officials, organizes and leads the infection control committee, leads policy development and implementation, and participates in community health initiatives. This role will also act as a key member of the employee health team.

Requirements Include:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse RN
  • Registered Nurse RN license in the state of Maine or ability to obtain
  • Strong knowledge of infection control and occupational health nursing
