Conduct new hire orientation. Assist in development of policies and procedures. Educate staff on an ongoing basis. Job Specifications: Experience in infection control. Must have and maintain a valid TN nursing license. Nursing Home Infection Preventionist Certification. Ability to train new staff in orientation. Experience: Evidence of training and continuing education in infection control measures. Nursing Home Infection Preventionist Certification. Experience training staff in new hire orientation. Knowledge Should demonstrate evidence of having attended/successfully participated in courses related to: Clinical microbiology and infectious diseases Epidemiological principles Core elements of infection control Concepts of Quality Assurance and Continuous Quality Improvement Skills Good computer and organizational skills. Good communication, counseling and interpersonal skills. Should demonstrate leadership skills and be able to work as a team member. Should demonstrate competence in report writing. Familiar with research, date collection and analysis. Ability to monitor regulations related to nursing home facilities and provide suggestions on new policies. Ability to educate employees in All Staff Meetings and conduct annual Skills Training of employees. Participate in the nurse on call rotation. Potential to work as a charge nurse during on call rotation. Attitudes and Behavior Be able to work alone and with others effectively. Must be able to multitask several projects at one time. Possess the attitude to make the patient care the primary concern, treating every patient compassionately, demonstrating empathy and an aspiration to altruism. Seek to treat patients maintaining patient's dignity, privacy, autonomy, and confidentiality. Prepared to work as a team member, in manner that best serves patient's interest. Prepared to understand and follow the facility rules and regulation, and demonstrate positive attitude when it comes to additional duties required by the administration.
