JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Maintenance Electrician DATE: 5/2024

REPORTS TO: Electrical Supervisor STATUS: Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY:

Position is responsible for repairing maintaining, and/or installing equipment as well as performing routine maintenance on equipment and performing electrical repairs throughout the facility.

DAILY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Troubleshooting of industrial controls, three phase motor circuits, and basic electrical systems.
  2. Install, maintain, modify, and repair all electrical distributions systems and associated electrical equipment.
  3. Wiring, hook-up, of disconnects switches, push buttons, circuit panels, breakers, suppressors, and transformers.
  4. Utilized blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer's installation manuals to complete assigned projects.
  5. Assist with installation of new electrical equipment or modify existing equipment.
  6. Identify opportunities for Electrical System improvements and communicate those to a supervisor or manager.
  7. Utilize all manner of hand and power tools to diagnose, adjust, maintain, and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
  8. Review work orders to ensure accuracy and maintain documentation of work performed.
  9. Provide training to peers as requested or needed by supervisor, or training department.
  10. Make suggestions for correctible measures when downtime results from mechanical or technical defects.
  11. Attend maintenance meetings and trainings as required.
  12. Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.


REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:
  1. MUST have a minimum of 6 months industrial electrical experience, including PLC, VFD, Analog, and advanced electrical controls experience.
  2. MUST be comfortable and experienced utilizing hand and power tools of all varieties.
  3. MUST know how to accurately use and read a tape measure as well as industrial blueprints.
  4. MUST have basic knowledge and safety understanding of electrical components.
  5. MUST have knowledge of basic math, including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and calculating percentages.
  6. Skill in using a personal computer and various software applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  7. Ability to work in a refrigerated environment ranging from 45-50 degrees Fahrenheit.
  8. Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner with all plant employees, as well as third party vendors and contractors.
  9. Ability to operate a forklift, scissors lift, or any other powered equipment or machinery as needed.
  10. Ability to consistently practice and enforce safe working habits.
  11. Ability to recognize safety risks and comply with all safety standards.
  12. Ability to work with a group of technicians or autonomously with limited supervision.
  13. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  14. MUST be able to pass required physical including demonstrating your ability to lift the required weight for each position.
  15. MUST be able to stand and/or walk for entire 8-hour shift.
  16. MUST wear correct job specific PPE as designated by company policy.


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  1. Associate's degree or higher in Mechatronics, Electrical, Robotics or similar fields preferred.
