Industrial Electrician

Work directly for a Lake County, Indiana area steel processing plant.

Industrial Electrician:

Experience with Mechanical Computer & PLC, AC/DC Drives, Hand & Power Tools, Electrical maintenance, Construction & Installation, and Analog & Digital Electronics.
Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical schematics.
Ability to troubleshoot and correct electrical problems.
Repair or replace defective equipment pa1ts, using hand tools and power tools, as needed Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly. Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists as needed.
Use common hand and power tools.
Diagnose electrical or mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, using electrical schematics and/or repair manuals.
Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other pa1ts of machinery as needed. Dismantle devices to access and remove defective pa1ts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
Knowledge of electrical systems, AC and DC drives, servo control systems, 24VDC, 110VAC, and 460 VAC power systems
Perform other tasks as directed or needed

Job Requirements

At least 5-7 years of industrial maintenance electrician experience within a manufacturing environment.
Technical Knowledge of Motors, Schematics & Electrical Print Reading
Ability to Control Power Supplies, AC/DC Theory, Power Distribution, Test Instruments
Must have own tools.

Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Journeyman Ce1tification or Completion of a documented maintenance training program or trade ce1tification.
5-7 Years Minimum Experience plus accredited schooling or ce1tification

Skills/Abilities:
Repairing - Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
Troubleshooting - Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
Installation - Installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.
Problem Sensitivity - The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
Multi limb Coordination - The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion.
Physical Abilities - Able to lift and carry 50 lbs, climb ladders, work overhead while in a lift up to 50 ft.

Testing - Applicant will be required to pass Oral and Written tests.
