Job Overview

As the In-House Counsel, you will hold a pivotal role in safeguarding the Company's interests through comprehensive legal support on contract matters. Your expertise in reviewing and drafting various contracts, agreements, and legal documents will ensure that we operate smoothly, ethically and in full compliance with legal standards. Reporting to the COO and the first in-house legal employee, you will collaborate with various departments advising on contract terms and legal risk, you will develop systems and processes and build the foundation for scalable best practices. About the Role

  • Draft and review an array of contracts including vendor agreements, leases, sales contracts, licensing agreements, event waivers, and more
  • Ensure that contracts are compliant with relevant laws and regulations and are aligned with company policies
  • Conduct research and investigate on policies and regulations in our forecasted target markets
  • Assist in contract disputes and potential litigation matters
  • Stay current on Anti-Money Laundering (AML), patents, trademarks, and privacy laws
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive contract management system, including tracking key dates, renewals, and compliance requirements
  • Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations impacting the jewelry industry
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations to mitigate legal risks associated with contracts and business activities
  • Collaborate with external counsel and regulatory authorities as needed to address compliance matters
  • Offer general support and ad-hoc projects for COO when assigned

What You Bring to the Team

  • Active member in Good Standing of the California Bar Association
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
  • Expertise in contract law, corporate law, and compliance
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to members of the business
  • Ability to handle multiple projects with unwavering attention to detail, effective prioritization, and meeting all deadlines
  • Exceptional research and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • In-house experience with global retail organizations is a plus

Pay Transparency

Targeted base compensation is $150,000 plus annual bonus. The total compensation package is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Our workplace is clean, orderly, appropriately lighted and ventilated with the proper safety compliance.
