Law firm with a focus on complex immigration family-based and removal defense immigration cases, and a current emphasis on cases dealing with victims of crimes (U, VAWA, T visas) asylum seekers, and unaccompanied minors.

Job Details

Primary duties assigned to the associate attorney include providing direct assistance in immigration cases, providing legal representation for diverse clients with complex immigration cases before USCIS and Immigration Court and State Court.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct legal review and management of immigration cases
  • Represent non-detained individuals in removal proceedings the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals
  • Represent client in front of U.S Citizenship and Immigration Services
  • Manage workload of cases
  • Prepare diverse immigration applications, cover letters, and briefs, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions
  • Review immigration applications/packets and make any necessary adjustments
  • Develop strategy and prepare clients/witnesses for court/USCIS testimony
  • Be willing to participate in different immigration training
  • Prepare and submitting legal briefs for a variety of immigration cases
  • Maintain an active caseload to meet project deliverables

Qualifications:
  • Must speak Spanish fluently.
  • Juris Doctor graduate with excellent credentials
  • An active member in a State Bar of California
  • Experience assisting immigrant, limited English speaking and/or low-income clients
  • Preferred experience appearing in immigration court
  • Familiarity with SIJS preferred.
