Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Radiology Manager, completes the day to day radiological MRI, CT, Diagnostic Imaging, C-Arm, or Ultrasound Imaging functions to produce quality images for the ordering physicians and radiologists.

Reports to: Radiology Manager

Essential Job Functions

Interviews patients for the purpose of obtaining patient history and informing patients regarding patient safety, contrast media contraindications and patient procedures. Practices AIDET.

Maintains a safe environment for the patient, staff, and visitors in and around the MRI Suite.

Positions patients appropriately; provide instructions related to breathing, communication, observation and length of sequences/exam.

Enters required patient information accurately into the computer; selects appropriate protocol, scans, and techniques in accordance with protocol within acceptable time frames; makes adjustments as necessary.

Produces imaging in accordance with optimum standards for radiologist interpretation. Completes archiving responsibilities on each patient.

Performs assigned responsibilities including PACS duties and exam import.

Performs assigned responsibilities as C-arm, fluoro, CT, and procedure technology as necessary. Adheres to attendance and call duties.

Demonstrates the spirit of the philosophy, mission, and values of the hospital through words and actions and implements them into departmental processes, programs, and the working environment. Practices KWAKT, HEAL, SOB, AIDET.
Applies the principles and values of customer service and continuous quality improvement while performing day to day activities of the position.

Maintains positive working relationships and fosters cooperative work environment. Adheres to the hospital's Guidelines for Appropriate Conduct in the HR Manual.
Displays honesty and mutual respect when communicating with peers and other departments.
Follows through on problems that may compromise effective job performance by using appropriate chain of command.

Utilize concepts of age/developmental stages in interactions with patients and families.

Minimum Requirements
Certification, Licensure: Current CPR certification; registration through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the State of Arkansas.
Experience, Training, Knowledge: Wanted: Minimum of two (2) years experience as technologist in a surgical setting or demonstrates acceptable knowledge/experience.

Physical Requirements

Lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to fifty (50) pounds while administering care to patients, etc. Stooping, kneeling, and/or crouching daily in delivery of patient care, obtaining equipment, etc. Standing and walking more than five (5) hours per day in administering patient care in multiple rooms. Running, occasionally, in responding to patient care emergencies. Reaching, grasping, handling, and/or feeling five (5) or more hours per day in administering patient care, i.e. operating various radiologic equipment.

Working Conditions/Environmental Exposures

Environmental hazards such as chemicals, solvents, needles, needle containers, sharps, blood, body fluids, various infectious/communicable diseases, infectious medical waste, radiation, and/or radioactive materials and/or radioactive waste, proximity to moving mechanical parts. Protective clothing/equipment may be necessary.
