Department: ICE IGSL Clinical AS NC Department's Website: Summary of Job Duties: The Imaging Clinical Educator/Recruiter role is an integral team member that provides essential leadership and oversight of radiology technologist practice in the diagnostic radiology department. This leader promotes recruitment and retention of Radiology Technologists (RTs) by ensuring effective onboarding, competency validation and ongoing enhancement of clinical skills. The Imaging Clinical Educator/Recruiter is actively involved in quality/performance improvement including data collection (audits, surveys), analysis, actions, and evaluation. Coordination of activities to ensure regulatory compliance standards is a priority and expectation. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: BS degree from an accredited Diagnostic Radiology Program PLUS Five (5) years of radiology technologist experience in a comparable setting AND a Certified Radiology Technologist Arkansas Licensed Radiology Technologist Superior organizational skills Proficient communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills; ability to provide instructions one-on-one and in groups. Skills in MS Office and database software Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in radiology, education, leadership, or related field Seven (7) years of radiology technologist experience Experience in an academic medical setting. Leadership experience Additional Information: Responsibilities: Assesses and designs training and/or educational programs to address identified deficiencies/learning needs. Identifies barriers or concerns which interfere with the learning process and suggests alternatives for resolution. Establish and lead process improvement initiatives. Ensures comprehensive, effective orientation plan for newly hired radiology techs. Provides formal onboarding and support for first year of employment of RTs. Develops and trains RT preceptors and evaluates their performance. Coordinates annual competency validation activities for RTs including those determined by the department and low volume/high risk practices. Incorporates evidence-based practices in the development of scope and standards of care delivery for RTs. Works directly with RTs to facilitate successful achievement and maintenance of clinical ladder levels; assists in portfolio development and completion of required qualifiers. Acts as a liaison to the radiology technologist schools in Arkansas. Provides oversite to the onboarding of new employees. Actively participates in the clinical education of rad tech students during their UAMS rotations. Assists in managing safety submissions including collecting, tracking, analyzing and collaboratively devising action plans for desired outcomes. Identifies quality concerns and communicates appropriately. Promotes a safe working environment by complying with department, institutional safety policies and regulatory agencies. Observes safe work practices and provides input on safety issues. Actively partners with Imaging Services leadership team to proactively identify patient safety risks and develops actionable plans to mitigate those risks. Participates in data collection to satisfy the needs of compliance and organizational quality efforts. Assists rad techs as they develop direction and priorities for shared governance councils, committees, and task forces. Participates as an active member on shared governance councils, committees, and task forces in order to facilitate outcomes in a timely manner. May perform other duties as assigned.
