Position Summary The Imaging Assistant II offers supportin various capacities to Orlando Health Imaging areas. Responsibilities Essential Functions
• Transports bed, stretcher, and wheelchair patients in a safe, professional manner, following HIPPA and handoff compliance.
• Observes and assists all patients as necessary in all holding areasin a professional manner.
• Uses double identifiers on every patient per The Joint Commission regulations for patient safety.
• Orders and receives weekly radiology supplies.
• Returns equipmentto designated storage area and maintainstransport equipment. Cleans, deodorizes, and disinfects equipment as needed.
• Picks up and deliversrequisitions, specimens, and other materials within the facility.
• Assists with stocking and cleaning of rooms, puts away supplies correctly.
• Reportsfaulty equipment, hazardous conditions and/or incidents to supervisor for follow up.
• Maintains 02/suction supplies as required per facility.
• Recognizes exam types and helpsmaintain workflow by assisting the technologist with room setup and transporting patients to the room.
• Assiststechnologistsin the radiology room as needed to perform safe diagnostic exams.
• Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
• Demonstrates effective communication and strong organizational skills.
• Delivers mail interdepartmentally as needed.
• Adheres to Orlando Health's mission statement and strategic imperatives.
• Maintainsreasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures, department guidelines, and education requirements. Other Related Functions
• Keeps accurate records according to departmental policies and regulatory agencies.
• Attends meetings and in-services asrequired.
• Maintains knowledge and skill level necessary to provide care appropriate to the patients age and status.
• Responsible for professional growth. Qualifications Education/Training High School graduate or equivalent is required. Licensure/Certification BLS/Healthcare Provider certification within 3 months of hire Phlebotomy certification (Required) Experience One (1) year recent experience in a hospital setting.
