Job Description BAE Systems seeks a qualified professional to join our team in an exciting role supporting the sustainment efforts for the Minuteman III (MMIII) Intercontinental Ballistic Missile weapon system. As a Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in transitioning the MMIII system to Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). This position is based at Hill Air Force Base (AFB) in Utah, with the flexibility to work remotely for 1-2 days per week.
Your responsibilities will include: Modernizing and re-architecting engineering data into architecture models using SysML, collaborating closely with subject matter experts. Supporting the government in transforming paper-based documents into Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) products. Staying at the forefront of the rapidly evolving field of MBSE by researching emerging trends, techniques, methods, and best practices. Conducting Systems Requirements Analysis (SRA) to ensure program objectives and system-level requirements are met, involving all necessary engineering disciplines. Documenting SRA data using SysML and maintaining it in the Catia suite of tools. Providing regular project status updates and progress reports, both internally and externally. Offering feedback to improve processes and contributing to engineering objectives. Staying informed about developments in systems engineering disciplines. Ensuring cost-effectiveness and sound design practices. Please note: Due to government contract requirements, this position mandates US Citizenship status. Required Education, Experience, & Skills Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in an ABET accredited Engineering program; OR Computer Science; Software; Mathematics; or Physics or similar. 0-3+ years with a BS Degree (0-2+ years with Master's Degree) experience in systems integration and analysis of hardware and software systems/processes OR the position can be adjusted to accommodate a candidate with 0-2 years experience. Must be able to obtain CSEP within 6 months of hire. Must be able to obtain OCSMP level 2 certification within 6 months of hire with continued progression. A security clearance is not required prior to hire; however you must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance at Secret or above after hire. The criteria set for obtaining a security clearance is set by the US Government. You must be a US Citizen. Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Preferred Qualifications & Skills: Knowledge of SysML: Familiarity with Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and its application in system architecture and design. Experience with MBSE (Cameo Systems Modeler): Proficiency in using Cameo Systems Modeler for Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tasks. PLM Understanding: Understanding of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) principles and practices. System Engineering Fields: Exposure to one or more areas within System Engineering, such as requirements analysis, system design, integration, or verification. System Requirements and Traceability: Ability to work with system requirements and ensure traceability throughout the engineering process. Requirements Management System: Familiarity with tools and processes related to managing system requirements. Full-Time Salary Range: $57695 - $98093 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
