Requirements / Qualifications Candidates may qualify academically by: (A) having completed 48 units of semester credits or 60 units of quarter credits from an institution of higher education; or (B) graduation from high school and passage of a formal District assessment that demonstrates knowledge and the ability to assist in teaching reading, writing, and mathematics; or reading, writing, and mathematics readiness. Completion of a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) program from an approved institution of learning recognized by the State of California. Experience: At least one year of paid or volunteer experience providing related health care services. A minimum of two years of experience working with children, adolescents, and/or young adults with special developmental needs and/or severe and multiple disabilities is preferred. One year (minimum) of experience assisting students with braces and other orthopedic devices is preferred. Must possess current cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid certificates from approved training programs. Job Summary Job Summary Under the general supervision of a certificated administrator and the technical supervision of a Registered District Nurse, to perform medical treatments and procedures necessary in providing specialized physical health care services to pupils with exceptional needs. To act as an Instructional Assistant to a Teacher in performing assigned tasks; and to perform related duties as required.
