This is the second of five levels in the Human Services Series. Incumbents determine client eligibility or funding stream for assigned programs. Responsibilities may include compiling and reviewing financial data; determining eligibility for services based on established guidelines; promoting service offerings; completing an initial assessment of client needs; creating and maintaining files; compiling statistics and preparing reports; and performing related clerical duties.(The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. Greet adult members/youth members and direct to the appropriate point of interest and need. Explain the services available within the Career Solutions Center, and also explain how these services will assist them in their job search. Administer appropriate assessment activities to identify current skill levels. Determine needed skill building services. Create a plan to build skills and/or match skills to current job openings. Identify gaps between current skills and skills needed for a particular job opening. Conduct appropriate assessment activities to identify current skill levels. Assist job seeker to outline their work history and list their current package of skills using the Background Wizard. Identify personal interests and explore skills/job options that match those interests (Interest Inventory). Review skills compared to those required for specific job openings to determine appropriateness for referral. Assist job seeker to create a resume in HIRE (Helping Individuals Reach Employment), matching skills to job order requirements and highlighting skills that employers can match to openings in their organization. Recommend other job search tools appropriate for the job seekers targeted jobs; assist in the production of their tool kit. Provide labor market information including jobs in demand, wage rates, education requirements, etc. so the job seeker can make informed, realistic choices. Conduct a budget analysis to determine salary needs. Assist job seeker in creating a list of employers to conduct a targeted search. Explore training opportunities in desired field. Create a training plan to build skills. Recommend member for in-house scholarship, and manage classroom based training accounts for those who receive scholarships. Maintain regular, frequent contact with members via phone, mail, e-mail, and face-to-face appointments in order to build the needed skills, access outcomes of job referral, and/or to keep the member attached to services on an on-going basis. Route calls, and notify staff of received messages. Prepare and submit required reports to Local and State Officials. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position does not require supervisory responsibilities.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Associates Degree; or, High School Diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.) and three years related experience, one year customer service or clerical support experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. LICENSING REQUIREMENTS Valid Driver's License as per State law or requirement.
