The purpose of this position is to provide a variety of responsible, confidential specialized clerical duties in support of Human Resources services and programs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Manages and coordinates HR departmental operations such as payroll, fleet, inventory, maintenance of office equipment, travel & training, and master HR calendar of events. Reviews and processes employment verifications and tuition reimbursement requests. Works closely with HR Director on annual budget preparation and ongoing reporting. Reviews and reconciles all P-card processing, invoices, purchase orders, requisitions and vouchers. Oversees and manages administrative support and customer service by handling calls, assisting visitors, and distributing departmental mail. Oversees and maintains personnel files for 1,000+ active coworkers, retirees, and separated coworkers. Reviews and distributes departmental emails and faxes, and PANs received via Content Central. Leads HR Programs by overseeing the Jo Atwater Award, Journey through Concord, and the Annual Service Awards. Adhere to the HR Department's Confidentiality Statement. Supplemental Functions: Performs other similar duties as required. Job Specifications and Qualifications: Knowledge: Modern office procedures Customer service principles Basic mathematical, accounting, budget, and record keeping principles Grammar, punctuation, and spelling principles Office management principles Human Resources general principles Research methods Licensing and Certifications: Ability to obtain Valid North Carolina Notary License within 6 months of hire. Failure to obtain may result in termination. Working Conditions / Physical Requirements: Positions in this class require: fine dexterity, handling, vision, hearing, talking, sitting, twisting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing/pulling, bending, crouching. Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds occasionally or negligible weights frequently; sitting most of the time.
