Position Title: Human Resources (HR) Generalist
Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Human Resources (HR) Generalist to join our team. The HR Generalist will be responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and will work closely with HR management in supporting various HR functions. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of HR best practices, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in recruitment efforts, including posting job openings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and facilitating the selection process.
- Coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding processes, including new hire orientation, paperwork, and exit interviews.
- Provide guidance and support to employees on HR-related matters, including policies, procedures, and benefits.
- Manage employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and programs.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and terminations.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases.
- Assist with HR reporting and data analysis.
- Support HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2-3 years of HR experience, preferably in a generalist role.
- Knowledge of HR best practices and employment laws and regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS software.
- HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred but not required.
