Your role at Samsonite:


The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will build trusted relationships across the organization, championing programs, policies, and procedures vital to Samsonite's workforce and business objectives. Leveraging adept navigation skills and collaborative prowess, the HRBP will engage with employees at every level, offering guidance and coaching on diverse, people-centric matters. A successful HRBP will serve as an advocate for employees while facilitating positive change within a dynamic environment. Their track record of driving impactful outcomes in fast-paced settings underscores their ability to effect meaningful transformations.


  • Partners with managers to proactively to provide day to day support of employees utilizing HR expertise and perspective
  • Offers strategic counsel and collaborative guidance to managers on matters of employee relations, encompassing coaching, mentoring, career advancement and disciplinary measures
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and can adjust between strategy and tactical execution seamlessly
  • Champion, manage and facilitate the overall Performance Summary Cycle and Goal Setting Cycles.
  • Partners with Shared Service Teams to provide payroll, benefits and compensation solutions that drive business objectives
  • In partnership with leadership, develops local initiatives that drive employee engagement, increase morale, improve workplace relationships, boost productivity as well as attract and retain top talent
  • Partners with the HR shared services team on talent acquisition needs and manages the open roles process
  • Recommend and implement process improvements as needed
  • Collaborates with department management on promotions, transfers, and new hires
  • Analyzes data trends and metrics to inform business decisions
  • Voluntarily recommends resourceful, alternative, or original ideas/procedures. Must be a self-starter who shows initiative, agility, resourcefulness, and flexibility.
  • Collaborates with colleagues in the human resources department to develop programs and solutions
  • Mediate and resolve employee relations issues; conduct thorough and objective investigations when necessary
  • This individual will anticipate HR-related needs, proactively communicate, and develop coordinated solutions
  • Participate in and lead various employee led committees including social, community, green and diversity teams.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with legal requirements pertinent to the day-to-day management of employees; collaborate with the legal department when necessary
  • Interpret human resources policy to employees and management
  • Manage HR Coordinator role

We're excited if you have:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources Management, Organizational Psychology or related field
  • 5+ years' experience as an HRBP or HR Manager
  • Previous experience in human resources, professional development and training
  • Current, in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to human resources, employee management, federal and state employment laws
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Preferred Skills and Industry experience:

    • Experience with AAP and EEOC programs desirable but not required
    • Experience managing staff desirable but not required
    • Experience with Canadian HR practices would be beneficial
