Job Summary In the role of HSE Specialist, you will ensure that operations are conducted in a safe and efficient manner and in compliance with all applicable federal Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental, by integrating and implementing company and 3rd party HSE policies and procedures. HSE Specialists interact with facility operations personnel to ensure a high standard of HSE policies, procedures, and actions are being followed and act as advisors to facility management, overseeing and facilitating the implementation of the NOV HSE 360 Management System. This position will have a heavy focus on implementing and maintaining the NOV HSE 360 Management System. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Work with members of management and employees to implement, maintain and improve the Health, Safety, and Environmental Management Systems. Successful completion of all NOV required training and additional training deemed necessary for effective execution of management system tasks. Assist the HSE Manager with HSE procedures, campaigns and initiatives as required. Assist with audit preparation as needed. (Internal, external, 3rd party). Conduct internal audits as per NOV HSE procedures (travel to other locations may be required). Present audit Findings and recommendations to the local or Area Management. Maintain NOV acceptable driving record. Create and monitor emails as needed. Other duties as assigned. Must follow and enforce all safety and environmental policies and programs; must be able to use personal protective equipment as required by company procedure. Report any activities that could be detrimental to safety, environment, or property; report any injuries when they occur. Oversee incident investigations, Root Cause Analysis, and follow-up to ensure timely closure of Corrective Actions. Enter audit findings and incidents into NOV inhouse database. Provide HSE training to facility personnel, including management. Actively participates in frequent facility HSE walkthroughs, reviews, and audits. Provide timely and effective liaison with all site personnel to review and address all aspects of matters related to company HSE principals. Facilitates tasks and activities that correct and/or enhance the site's HSE compliance. Act as an advisor and resource to facility management for HSE matters. Liaise with facility management to ensure effective communication on all open action items. Conduct hazard-risk analysis. Maintain recordkeeping and document control requirements as outlined in HSE Management System. Perform other duties when assigned related to facility Management, vendor audits, HSE client data. Assist with achieving annual HSE Objectives and targets. HSE Inspection of NOV Facilities. Laisse with contracted certification agency for external audits in the region. Other duties as directed. Qualifications: (Education/No. of Years of Experience) At least 3 years of working experience in a HSE roll within the oil and gas / manufacturing industry. A college or university degree in HSE or related discipline is considered an asset. Experience: Auditing experience as per HSE Management Systems. Implementing and maintaining HSE Management systems. Leading incident investigations. Experience conducting Safety and environmental training courses. Experience conducting HSE inspections. Conducting risk assessments. Skills, Training, special knowledge, and/or Language skills Computer Skills (Microsoft, Excel, Power Point, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams & Data Systems). Ability to work alone & with team. Proficiency in communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to work with all levels of employees including, shop floor employees, lead people, supervisors, and managers.
