North Kingstown, RI (Onsite) Thales is looking for an HSE Specialist - New Grad who will provide subject matter expertise that complies with environmental, health and safety regulations. HSE Specialist will understand, in detail, the applications of safe, compliant operational practices and support compliance demonstration associated with company policy, work processes, programs and standards. This position will interface with all departments to ensure existing processes and special projects are in compliance with all Federal, State, and Local regulations. The HSE Specialist will also maintain and apply knowledge of current health, environmental and safety policies, regulations and industrial processes (hazard identification evaluation and control, accident/injury prevention, hazardous material/waste management, emergency preparedness, fire/life safety, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, and environmental regulatory compliance.) Key Areas of Responsibility Build partnerships and interact with production workers, top location leadership, health and safety functional leadership. Develop an understanding and execute HSE work processes, activities and controls. Support the preparation for audits, inspections, visits and prepare reports to monitor program maturity, performance and compliance. Support determination of suitable training content and delivery mode, support gap assessments to identify training needs. Conduct risk management in accordance with ISO 45001 and 14001 standards/methodologies. Coordinate and engage plant personnel and other personnel in the identification, development and implementation of HSE improvements. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Science, Safety or Environmental. Associate Safety Professional (ASP). 1-5 years of experience in the field of HSE in a manufacturing environment. Progressive experience creating, leading and managing ISO 14001, ISO 45001 management systems. Strong knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and the ability to apply such in the manufacturing setting. Strong analytical and problem solving skills with advanced knowledge of Lean methodologies. Ability to interface with people at all levels within the organization and outside the organization.
