SMV Recruiting is partnering with a great client in Syracuse who is looking for a Human Resources Manager. This role would be responsible for seeing the HR functions for a 70 person team and esentially set up their HR department from scratch. Responsibilities:
- Help develop a strong HR Department by creating policies, procedures, and documentation
- Analyze trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs, and policies
- Manage and resolve employee relations issues and conducts investigations
- Maintain knowledge of ethics, code of conduct and legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees
- Provide coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions as needed
- Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention
- Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation to managers and individuals
- Oversee recruiting, hiring, and onboarding process
- Maintain/update company handbook
- Oversee manage paperwork and assist management as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in HR or a related field strongly preferred
- Previous expereince setting up an HR department from scratch highly desired
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in HR
- Expereince working for a small-midsize family own company with 100+ employees strongly preferred
- Experience in handling HR for a franchise, manufacturing or auto industry is strongly desired
- SPHR or PHR certification preferred
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, diversity, performance management, federal and state respective employment laws
- Develop strong trusting relationships to gain support and achieve results
- Manage multiple human resources disciplines in multiple locations
- Take initiative to identify and anticipate company needs and make recommendations for implementation
