Important Note: The selected candidate must have direct "hands-on" experience and working knowledge in the day-to-day HR administration, including recruiting and payroll processing.


A hybrid position is available, working at least two days a week in the San Leandro HR office. Travel to other KP facilities in Sacramento, Riverton (Utah) and Renton (WA) is required.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage full cycle recruiting to attract, select and hire qualified candidates.
  • Back-up to the HR Generalist, including all payroll processing activities and HR Administration.
  • Provide general HR support as a key point of contact to all divisions.
  • Guide employees and managers in various employee actions, such as: leave of absences, termination, performance management and workers compensation.
  • Coach all employees on policy interpretation and help manage employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship.
  • Carry out administrative and compliance related work needed to support the HR Department.
  • Create and revise job descriptions.
  • Help develop and facilitate HR training.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state laws; review company policies and recommend best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.



  • Bachelor's degree preferred with at least 5-7 years HR experience or equivalent combination.
  • Full-cycle recruiting hands-on experience is required.
  • Payroll processing experience is also required, preferably with Paylocity Payroll and HR system.
  • Printing industry or manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office products, database management and record keeping.
  • Practices a high level of confidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills in order to collect relevant information, evaluate options and make logical decisions.
  • Motivate others to perform well; effectively influences others toward accomplishment of objectives/goals.
  • Share information and expertise with others.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously; organize and schedule people, tasks and time effectively.
