SUMMARY:

As a Senior Accountant specializing in inventory and job costing, you'll lead efforts to ensure accurate financial reporting and cost management, reporting directly to the Controller and working closely with the Chief Financial Officer. Your role involves overseeing all aspects of inventory accounting, analyzing job costs, and collaborating with teams to optimize profitability. You'll prepare journal entries and reconciliations and participate in month-end and year-end closing processes. Additionally, you'll ensure compliance and efficiency while potentially assisting in the preparation of financial statements and other external reports.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage and oversee all aspects of inventory accounting, including standard costing, valuations, transfers, reserves, and physical counts.
Implement and maintain effective internal controls for inventory management.
Collaborate with operations and purchasing teams to ensure accurate inventory data and cost allocation.
Develop and maintain job costing systems, including cost allocation, variance analysis, and reporting.
Analyze variances between actual and budgeted costs and prepare reports for management review.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in inventory and job costing activities.
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
Minimum 5+ years of experience in a senior accounting role, with a strong focus on inventory and job costing.
Proven experience with GAAP and relevant accounting software (e.g., Sage, NetSuite, etc.).
