HOSPITALIST
The McFarland Clinic, P.C. is currently seeking a Hospitalist to provide inpatient Internal Medicine physician services and medical treatment from admission through discharge to adult patients who are admitted to Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, IA.
Hospitalists work 12- hour shifts (generally from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with occasional 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.), covering a minimum of 15 shifts per month. Duties include: Care for adult patients admitted to the hospital and require specialized inpatient care; Manage and coordinate the entire inpatient stay, work with the patient's primary care providers and specialists during their stay; Be available at a moment's notice to treat emergent situations; Forge relationships with key departments within the hospital and clinic to allow for prompt coordinated care. Additional duties may include other services that are within the scope of training and experience in internal medicine.
The minimum requirements for this position are a Medical Degree or foreign equivalent; completion of a 36-month Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency program; possess or be eligible for an Iowa Medical License; eligibility for registration with the Drug Enforcement Administration; and eligibility for reimbursement from the Medicare/Medicaid programs.
