A kind couple with one friendly dog (large Pomeranian) and a sweet cat is offering a unique opportunity for a motivated domestic couple. Their Malibu, CA residence includes a home (3,600 sq. ft.) on a 15,800 sq. ft. lot with lush landscaping, citrus trees, rose garden (experience with local vegetation is helpful but not mandatory), and pool (maintenance training will be provided). The projected schedule is Monday through Friday, 10am-6pm (flexible), for a total of 40 hours per week. The principals do ask for flexibility to work on weekends on occasion and will swap time off during the week for any weekend day(s) worked. Additionally, there may be times to care for the pets for extended periods of time or when the principals are traveling; so being flexible to be "on duty" is necessary overall. This role will be unique initially in that the residence is undergoing remodeling/renovations. The candidates to hire will reside in a beach condo with ocean view that is located within a short drive of the residence. While the remodeling/renovations are underway, the couple will move into the residence and oversee the work being done while the principals will stay in the condo with their pets. At the start of the role there will be a need for detailed deep-cleaning of the off-site condo as well as decluttering, unpacking, and organization of contents of moving boxes in the main residence as well as ultimately detailed deep-cleaning before the principals move back in.
The job duties include housekeeping, laundry, ironing, organizing, assisting with consolidating/donating home items, meal planning/cooking (usually dinner but not every evening, breakfast/lunch is flexible; but cooking as a priority may be further down the line and not an immediate need), landscaping, pool maintenance, overseeing vendors, pet care, running errands, assisting with light entertaining the principals may conduct, and driving the principals on an occasional basis.
This is a residence being established so evolving into this role as it develops is needed; being helpful, flexible, detail-oriented team-players are characteristics sought for this role. For the cooking component, the principals eat organic and a primarily plant-based Mediterranean diet, so experience cooking Greek or Italian would be wonderful. Additionally, it would be a bonus if the candidates to hire have any dog handling/training experience. Personalities that are willing to accommodate an initially skittish/timid cat are important for this role as well as being mindful of her staying indoors.
