HIV Counselor

Position: HIV Counselor Division: Gary Health Department Reports To: Program Manager Brief Description of Duties and Responsibilities: The HIV Counselor will provide HIV related counseling, testing, and referral services. The Counselor will conduct targeted outreach. Outreach will consist of tradition and web based virtual outreach. The HIV Counselor will link individuals to HIV treatment, related health information, education, referrals, risk reduction intervention, condom distribution along with STD awareness and testing. Qualifications: Must have High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Must successfully complete Centers for Disease Control HIV Certification course offered thru the Indiana State Health Department.
