Supervise NDOT personnel with construction inspection duties of assigned projects. Ensure preparation and maintenance of complete and accurate records for construction projects pertaining to materials testing and usage, operations and quality of work performed, and compliance with contract specifications, plans, and special provisions. Prepare all project records, reports, estimates, and final computations. Supervise and document the measurements and computations of all final pay quantities and oversee contractor performance. Interpret specifications, standards, and manuals in the resolution of construction project problems. Communicate effectively with businesses, property owners, local and city officials and others involved with the construction of projects. Train personnel and enforce safety practices and procedures. Supervise equipment and facility use. Check plans, and redesign small portions of plans to meet field conditions. Request updated schedules as necessary. Informs the chain-of-command as necessary. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements / Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Experience performing and/or overseeing engineering work, involving various areas such as construction, maintenance, rehabilitation, planning, designing or contract administration. Valid driver's license is required. Preferred Qualifications: Supervisory experience or lead worker experience. Post high school education in the principles and practices of engineering. Experience using word processing and spreadsheet software, AWP, ORD and timesheets. Other: Must maintain all NDOT, ACI, ATSSA and any other certifications required for the position. Must be able to report to work within 40 minutes under normal driving conditions. Regular and reliable attendance is also required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must have strong organizational skills, be able to multitask, have strong leadership skills and be a role model to the office and other technicians.
