Maine Department of Transportation Salary: $15.00 - $19.27/Hourly (Salary Schedule) Office/Bureau: Maintenance and Operations (Region 5 - Northern Maine) Location: Caribou, ME Opening Date: April 17, 2024 Closing Date: May 1, 2024 Summer Seasonal Project Position Job Description: This is maintenance and personal services work performing strenuous physical labor for a variety of tasks involving highway maintenance and construction projects. Responsibilities include preparing and setting-up work zones; flagging and directing the flow of traffic; operating hand and power tools of all types; digging trenches, setting braces, erecting scaffolding, and cleaning-up debris and other waste materials; performing routine up-keep on vehicles and equipment; and conducting minor building and grounds maintenance. Work is performed under immediate supervision. To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must meet the following experience criteria: Possession of the above knowledges and abilities and be at least 18 years of age.
