HPC Engineer

Fidelity TalentSource is your destination for discovering your next temporary role at Fidelity Investments. We are currently sourcing for a HPC Engineer to work at Fidelity in our Boston, MA or Smithfield, RI locations (Hybrid).

We are looking for an experienced engineer to join our quantum and future computing team to building proofs of concept that demonstrate how these technologies can solve use cases from across the firm.

The Expertise we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, physics or a related field with at least 5 years of relevant work experience, or relevant graduate studies
  • Experience in designing and building high-performance computing systems, distributed systems, machine learning systems, and AI frameworks
  • Hands-on experience with parallel programming such as CUDA, OpenMP or MPI
  • Excellent Python or C programming and software design skills
  • Experience with Monte Carlo simulation, distributed ML or scientific computing
  • Experience with ML/DL frameworks such as PyTorch, Jax, Spark, Dask
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure or HPC schedulers such as Kubernetes, Slurm a plus
  • Strong team collaboration including git, Jira, agile methodologies
As a member of the FCAT Quantum and Future Computing Incubator, you will work with the team to design and build proof of concept experiments that
  • demonstrate how high performance computing can be used to solve a wide variety of business use cases
  • help other teams access new systems and solutions for further testing and development
  • leverage your expertise to ensure teams across Fidelity are using best-in-class computational tools today and in the future
  • research and test emerging and advanced computing technologies, to find and develop new applications and identify new business opportunities
You will also share your findings throughout the company with written summaries, videos, demos, live presentations, patents, conference publications and open-source contributions.

  • Technical design and analysis skills and an ability to balance ambiguity and work in fast-paced environment
  • Superb communication and collaboration skills through both written and verbal channels
  • Ability to rapidly pick up new concepts and programming libraries
  • Ability to understand and adapt to changing business priorities and technology advancements
  • Understanding of mathematical and statistical models used in the Financial Services industry (this is not a requirement but highly desired).

The Quantum and Future Computing incubator is a team devoted to examining how future computing technologies will impact Fidelity and our customers. Our research areas include the application of high performance computing to speed up business processes, the develop of novel quantum algorithms for future applications, and the mitigration of security threats posed by future quantum computers.
