Faculty Physician - Gastroenterology/Hepatology Transplant

The University of Minnesota, Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition in Minneapolis is seeking a Gastroenterologist/Hepatologist. Join an academic division committed to cutting-edge and patient-centered care, with a focus on developing hepatology and transplant hepatology programs.

Opportunity Highlights:

  • Inpatient attending on the liver service at M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center.
  • Outpatient liver clinics at M Health Fairview Clinics and Surgery Center in Minneapolis.
  • Provide consultations and engage in outreach activities.
  • Develop a clinical research program.
  • Participate in the academic missions of the Department of Medicine and the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition.
  • Teach medical students, residents, and Gastroenterology fellows.
  • Continued development opportunities with educational conferences, CME, and collaboration with specialists.

About the Division:

The Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at the University of Minnesota is at the forefront of advancing patient care, research, and education. Our division comprises several specialized sections dedicated to providing comprehensive care and conducting innovative research.

The general GI Section hosts expanding clinical and research programs on various GI disorders, including inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), esophageal disorders, complex polypectomy, and functional GI diseases. Moreover, the transplant hepatology section is renowned for hosting one of the longest-standing liver transplant programs in the United States. Additionally, our Division is home to a nationally recognized Advanced Endoscopy Section, specializing in the development and management of advanced endoscopic procedures such as ERCP and EUS, as well as the management of complex pancreas/biliary disorders. With a commitment to excellence in patient services, teaching, and research, we continue to strive for the highest standards in gastroenterology and hepatology care.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of accredited ACGME Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship programs.
  • Board certified in internal medicine and board certified/board eligible in Gastroenterology.
  • Advanced training in hepatology is desirable.
  • Demonstrated excellence in patient care and teaching.
  • Licensed or eligible for medical license and DEA in Minnesota.
  • Ability to work legally in the U.S.
