Learn more at Responsibilities Job Summary Responsible for the technical/ clinical and regulatory oversight of either Hematology, Coagulation and Urinalysis or Chemistry and Immunohemotology. Responsibilities include quality control, method and instrumentation validation, developing and implementing training and competency programs, researching and resolving technical problems.Standardizes workflow, testing and policy and procedures. Acts as an advisor on technical issues related to their area of expertise. Evaluates, recommends and implements new technology, testing, equipment and policies to improve quality and increase efficiency and revenue. Ensures equipment is inspected, maintained and repaired; troubleshoots technical problems. Participates in the evaluation, correlation and validation of new methodologies or instruments. Correlates results, responsible for normal range and Q.C. studies, linearlities and AMR's at their specified locations. Develops and updates discipline specific policies and procedures. Keeps staff current with implementation and modifications. Troubleshoots and resolves technical problems and is a technical resource to laboratory staff. Keeps their area in compliance with regulatory and inspection standards. Maintains a quality control program, including inter-laboratory comparisons, precision checks and a policy for out-of-control results and subsequent corrective documentation. Ensures data is reviewed in a timely manner. Sets workload priorities for the section and organizes space and equipment. Assists with data collection and quality metrics. Practices cost-containment by eliminating errors and unnecessary repeats of laboratory testing and nsures the integrity of the specimen through the testing process. Standardizes testing, workflow, policies and procedures. Understands specimen factors that can affect the accuracy of laboratory testing and ensures the integrity of the specimen through the testing process Develops and implements training and competency programs for staff. Facilitates new hire and annual competencies. Coordinates supplies and ensures costs are within budgetary guidelines. Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory, chemical, physical or biological science. Required Experience 4 years experience in focus area Required Licenses and Certifications ASCP or AMT certification or specialty certification in area of focus Required
