Heavy Equipment Operator Role Summary:

Hoops HR is seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating various types of heavy equipment, such as bulldozers, excavators, loaders, and graders, to perform tasks such as excavation, dozing, backfilling, grading, and leveling. The Heavy Equipment Operator will work in diverse settings, including demolition projects, construction sites, and landscaping. Safety and efficiency are paramount in this role.

Heavy Equipment Operator Role Responsibilities:
  • Operate heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner according to company policies and procedures.
  • Perform pre-operation checks and routine maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Follow project plans, blueprints, and instructions to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Excavate and grade land surfaces to prepare for construction projects, roadways, or landscaping.
  • Load and unload materials, such as dirt, gravel, and debris, using equipment attachments or by hand as needed.
  • Maneuver equipment in tight spaces and around obstacles while maintaining safety and precision.
  • Collaborate with ground crew and other team members to ensure smooth workflow and project completion.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and practicing safe work habits.
  • Report any damaged or faulty equipment to management for timely action.
Heavy Equipment Operator Role Requirements:
  • 1-3+ years of experience operating an excavator, bulldozer, loader, grader and demolition work including, but not limited to, backfilling and final grades.
  • Ability to read and interpret project plans, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver heavy machinery safely.
  • Strong understanding of equipment operation, maintenance, and safety procedures.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
  • Willingness to work after-hours when required.
